In order to reign in
our my spending for the garden, I would keep a tally of sorts on just how much I have spent compared to what we have harvested in 2013. My goal is at least 100 pounds. Last year when I planted my first garden, there were a lot of mishaps and mistakes, not to mention I kept no kind of log of what worked or how much I harvested.
Since I am notorious for forgetting things that aren’t written down, I am going to try to be diligent by documenting what we harvest every week.
So far for 2013 I have harvested:
Beans (pinto and green) – 12 ounces (I have replanted some of the pinto beans)
Black Eyed Peas – 1 ounce (I have replanted all of these also, with success I might add!)
Broccoli – 3.8 ounces
Brussels Sprouts – 1 ounce (These where from last year’s plants)
Carrots – 7.3 ounces
Dewberries – 1 ounce
Onions (Red and Texas Sweet) – 1 pound 2 ounces
Potatoes – 11 pounds 5 ounces (HOT DOG!)
Pumpkins – 5 pounds 4 ounces
Radishes – 11 ounces
Spinach – 2.3 ounces
Sunflowers – 3 ounce (I lost count on a count of the chickens)
Strawberries – ONE. That’s it! Only one tiny little strawberry, then the plant went kaput.
Tomatoes – 2 ounces
20 pounds 6.4 ounces. Not too shabby.
